Energy giant confirms breach of customer project files

Computer World -- Telvent, a Canadian energy firm whose systems are used to control more than half of all oil and gas pipelines in North America and Latin America, today confirmed a security breach involving the project files of some of its customers.

The Telvent attack is worrisome, given the enormous presence the company has within energy companies in North America, said Dale Peterson, CEO of Digital Bond, a consulting company that specializes in control system security.

It doesn't seem that anyone (or corporation) is safe any more, no matter how many security measures are in place. It seems there will always be some evil person out there that will find a way to break in and steal. I long for a world with honesty, integrity, law-abiding and good will!

The smart grid, "integrate an energy company's backend networks with new smart-grid technology." This a part of Agenda 21. Smart meters on our homes and smart appliances. It's about control.

A new reason for the gas companies to jack up the prices and then tell us how much more it cost to do business because they can't take care of their computers.

Now we don't even have a human controlling the control valves!! Fire thousands of workers and let a computer do it. Then when someone hacks the system, there is no one to question the actions.
