More so now than a year ago. Businesses and organizations are now looking to staff with temporary part-time non-benefit employees and are letting the permanent full-time employees go.

Yes, I am. I lost a good paying job last year due to the economy. I am thinking about opening my own business this year.

no. A year ago, I was a temp and a few months later, they hired me. Also, my current job was a new creation for my supervisor and we deal with the auto industry, too. We've been hiring engineers.

Interesting question that has settled on 18% of GasBuddy voters are unemployed, way more than those who still work to make a living in the USA.

18% GB voters are not employed, WOW!

So one question is how many GB voters are included in the 47% of US citizens who are freeloaders?

?????????????????

P.S. when the question was first asked a week ago the percentage of GB members who are unemployed was 22%!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just an observation.

no, because my job status has not changed: I'm still on short term contract, with a fixed end date, and constantly looking for my next job.

Retiring shortly. Worried about cost of living in future. Especially medically.

I'm a cab driver and an independent contractor.

As long as I pay the lease fee for the cab, I'll have my "job".

I am just 3 months on a new job and loving it! My last job I was there for 5 years but the future was very unclear for the future, so I took the chance on this one. My job security is better now I feel.
